Masturbation – An Overview
Masturbation is normal way of self-stimulating your genitals up to the point of achieving orgasm. Though it is considered a taboo, about which people refrain from talking about, majority of the world practice it in some or the other point of their life. Masturbation can be done for many reasons such as pleasure, tension-release or fun. Even though masturbation is mostly a safe activity, there may be some side that all women should keep in mind before indulging in it.
Addiction to Masturbation
Addiction to anything is wrong. Same stands true for masturbation as well. Many of us tend to get addicted to this activity as it gives us a feel-good sensation and relieves us of the body tensions. However, it can harm your daily chores of work as well as your relationships. You avoid spending time with other people which in turn can hurt your friendships and your romantic relationship as well. Excessive masturbation can affect your genitals and sex life.
Pain in the Back
Studies have shown that many people who masturbate too much experience lower back pain. Not only is that, experiencing cramps in the pelvic area or the tailbone area, also common. For people who are addicted to masturbation, groin pains and pain in testicles are also a common phenomenon. There have been some sayings that excessive masturbation also causes thinning or loss of hair, however, the proof of that hasn’t been received yet.
Decreased Sexual Sensitivity
The most sensitive organ in a women’s body, clitoris, is specially designed for pleasure. It has several dozens of nerve endings. Hence, prolonged stimulation in a similar way and similar rate might cause a decrease in its sensitivity temporarily. You might feel that you no longer can get aroused during sexual activities and reach the state of orgasm. But this phase is temporary and can return to its usual sensitive stuff after a while.
People who get accustomed to the experience of self-pleasure and relaxation tend to get hold of some private time regularly, even during office hours. Also when they are aroused mildly, the need for understanding that personal space is heightened so much that they have to take a break to discharge their extra dosage. This will affect your productivity. Such frequent discharges can also lead to various other problems such as urine infections or problems in sex organs.
Despite the few side effects, masturbation overall is a healthy activity if practiced in moderation. However, as per the popular myths, that have been associated with masturbation ever since, indulging in it won’t cause blindness or significant physical and mental health problems. But like everything else this too should be practiced in moderation.
